"I cycled there and knocked on doors and talked to the people outside. They were incredibly warm and welcoming."
Trailer park inhabitants struggle with with a negative image. They are seen as criminal and untrustworthy. I wondered why, so I went on an investigation. I started searching on the internet, to see what media outlets had to say. It almost always had something to do with criminal behavior.
I gathered more and more information about this subject. The more I knew about the history and the culture, the more positive my own view became. So I decided it was time to visit trailer camps. I cycled there and knocked on doors and talked to the people outside. They were incredibly warm and welcoming. Having met such nice people, I gathered my findings and made them into a "magazine". It takes you with me in my investigation. Hopefully it can spark a conversation about the image problem. If I would pick this subject up again, I would love to create a gathering where trailer park inhabitants get to know their neighbors around the park, and the other way around.
